At almost every single Soul Asylum concert I've been to, it seems that there is almost always someone shouting out a request for Freaks more than any other Soul Asylum song.tditz_gb wrote:But in my heart I know that no other song could bring about the eargasm that FREAKS played live would be for me.

Re: Be On My Side
Todd, do you know if the lyrics/sound of the song changed greatly since the rock for karl show I know I'm not Todd, but in my opinion the Rock for Karl version sounds almost exactly like the outtake. The sound is exactly the same, just a few lyrics seem to be in different places (which isn't uncomm...

I would definitely have to go with Stranger too. I'd love to see Dave wail on the sax or harmonica for that song. Sexual Healing would be great as well. I was shocked when I heard them play Rhinestone Cowboy last April in Milwaukee earlier this year, that was definitely unexpected and made for a gre...

Haha! The question remains, though: Which day of the year can you not listen to it? Theres nothing in the song that says you can't, but maybe I'll Have My Day has something to do with it? On a related note I was just thinking that 2 songs, both written by Dave share a similar coincidence, 3...

Dan didn't write "Directions," Dave did. somewhere, i don't remember where, there's something crediting that song to dan. anybody know what i might be thinking of? it's a great song, whoever wrote it, and i'm sorry it wasn't on the record. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I believe the confusion on the...

I have a feeling I'll be listening to the record quite a bit this coming holiday season, because it somehow sounds like a great Christmas albumâ€â€in a very unconvential way, of course, but I still think it has that feel, you know? Yeah, its definitely an album you can listen to 364 days a year...

Awesome, definitely a very catchy and upbeat song. I can also hear a hint of The Rembrandts ("I'll Be There For You" - Friends theme) in the song as Miss Fitt 2 mentioned. Too bad most television shows are going astray from even making/airing themes anymore, since that 30 seconds of an opening are "...

I think it's definitely a great album; not one bad song on it in my opinion. It's one of those albums where I can pop it into the CD player and listen to it all the way through without skipping a track. It is very different than Soul Asylum's material, but I think that may be a part of why I like it...

The majority on how I got into Soul Asylum be explained in my community spotlight article which can be viewed here . I was going to post my reply here, but it kind off turned out to be more related to a "particular" part on how I got into Soul Asylum, so I felt it should be posted in the respected f...
