Re: Mound,MN Blast 5-2-2009 - Important Update

- Tommy sang lead on "My Generation" and, for me, that alone was worth the price of admission. actually, both Tommy and KJJ were singing for My Generation. Now who was the lead singer then? Come on, let's duke that one out (I'm placing bets on that it was KJJ)! "You can't shake hands with...

Re: Mound,MN Blast 5-2-2009 - Important Update

Hey. Awesome show last Saturday. Very similar set to Grand Casino, but it was (mostly) outdoors and had a really fun feel with tons of energy. People have pretty much nailed down the set list. Just a couple notes: - Opening music over PA and after the show was a Run Westy Run mix (Kraig's first band...

Who's all going to see SA this weekend? I bought my tickets today. I'll be wearing some vintage Soul Asylum paraphernalia. SA on Saturday and the MayDay Parade in Mpls on Sunday should be a good weekend, and with the forecast 62 and mostly sunny, it should be a good setting for a show.

"Made to Be Broken" with the medley-break. It was super-fun when they used to do this back in the day.

This is a cool poll and it'd be neat to do for all the albums. I guess I'm the first one to vote for "Crazy Mixed Up World". I like all of TSL, but this one I like the best because it's got awesome, classic Dave-style lyrics and I like the tempo. Oxygen is good, too, because it's got a different sou...

Out of the ones I've heard (and I'm blown away by how much "new" stuff there is out there which is why this site is so cool), Wandering Eyes was awesome ("Lately, I've had a superstition. that I was on a secret mission...") that I heard from a Madison Dan-Dave acoustic show bootleg and One-Way Conve...

Soul Asylum on XM Radio

XM Radio was running a Valentine's Day promotion and for the background music, they used SA's cover of "Sexual Healing" from the No Alternative album. This is the first time I've heard anything older than stuff from GDU on there. Usually, "Without A Trace", "Somebody to Shove" or "Misery" will show ...

XM Radio has a feature where you can select an artist/group and any time they're playing on the XM network, you can listen to them. These are the ones I currently have on that list: The Replacements (and Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson stuff - I just got the "Open Season" soundtrack used and it's ...

Weather: Ugh - -4 with windchill of -19. "I'm not going out there..." Mood: After taking the weather into account, great. A nice juicy day off today. Hungry?: Nope, I just had a Jimmy Dean's Sausage and Bacon Omelette Thirst?: Again, no, as I am drinking an Aquafina Sparkling Berry Burst Carbonated ...

For me, it's definitely Cartoon - "there's a ringing in my ear that's heaven sent" is one of the greatest SA lyrics ever (followed by "if you're crying in your beer, you're gonna drown") and I love how Sometime to Return and Cartoon are back-to-back on the album, and hearing the intro to Cartoon is ...
