Re: 2017-12-29 at First Avenue
Traffic in downtown Mpls. can be pretty bad on a Friday night. Can take a frustrating amount of time to go even a block. Traffic is usually better on the 8th St. side of First Ave.

The good news is you don't have to get there too early to get a good spot. I'd say half hour before doors will get you something decent. We (fans) often meet up at the Depot pre-show for drinks/dinner and get in line together.

Re: New Book About First Avenue Contains Soul Asylum Photos
Of course the book is about First Avenue & not Soul Asylum. I know many of you have interest in the venue & Mpls. music as well. A good read for anyone with those interests.

New Book About First Avenue Contains Soul Asylum Photos
I just got a book about First Avenue that contains photos and stories about Soul Asylum. It was released in October & is available via the Minnesota Historical Society. Dan Murphy is credited with providing material for the book. Think SA fans will like it

Re: Any Dan sightings?
I believe that Dan Murphy still has his pin-up business, Grapefruit Moon. They sell artwork of pin-ups. I think there was an article in the Star Tribune about Dan leaving Soul Asylum back in 2012.

Soul Asylum Tour Shirts
What do you do with your Soul Asylum tour shirts after you buy them? Do you wear them often? Sometimes? Never? Special occasions only? Do you display them? Make crafts out of them? Discuss.

I don't know if they will play Holland. Right now I am not aware of any Soul Asylum tour dates anywhere at all. I hope you get to see them!

Re: The moment SA figured it out...?
I would have to agree with Hang Time, though I think their sound continued to evolve. I think their acoustic "Runaway Train" sound appeared around GDU & they tried new sounds on COF. But I think they started sounding like SA around Hang Time.
