I think now is time to update that pic on that site (though I'm not too crazy about that new one just with Dave in the wacky pose).

I may attempt to attend.

If anyone is in the Niagara Falls Area (Canada or US) and is travelling by vehicle and is able to pick me up (and of course drop me home again), I will gladly pay for gas expenses :) (if hotel needed, i can too chip in for this)

I live in the Niagara Region of Ontario.

Please post ;)

Well, finally got around to buying my ticket! This should be weird, but I'm anticipating it'll be the good kind of weird. Or something.

Great show last night - I always like Bowery, honestly. Also (on the off chance you see this), a shoutout to the fellow concertgoer up front, stage left, who made sure he wasn't obstructing my view or that of my friend - wheelchair users both - and snagged us a setlist, to boot. Thanks very much!

I had fun last night too. Good to see Kenn, Rob, Bill, and Mary, to catch up with my old friend Brian, and to finally meet Ms. Educatrix. Hope I didn't miss anyone. Also, sorry I didn't stick around long after...I needed to get a cab out to Brooklyn and didn't want to wait around too long to do so.

Setlist:

Somebody to Shove
Misery
Little Too Clean
I Will Still Be Laughing (hadn't heard that in awhile)
Can't Even Tell-Personal highlight for me since I don't think I've heard this live before!

Gravity
Into the Light
The Streets
When I Ran Off and Left Her
Black Gold: A fracking song about fracking
Without a Trace: Dedicated to Mr. Karl Mueller
Growing into You: Also hadn't heard this before in concert; admittedly it's not one of my favorites so it was less of a highlight this time.

Oxygen
Lately
Into My Arms-Introduced as a song from a guy from Australia, first name Nick, last name NOT...(then Dave paused to think of a guy) Spitzer. I think Dave was referencing the host of NPR's "American Roots" Nick Spitzer, and I think that show is based out of New Orleans. But yes, it was the Nick CAVE cover.

Never Really Been-Where will you be in 2023?
Runaway Train-I kind of liked the mirror ball effect during this song.
Closer to the Stars-standard first verse acoustic, rest of song electric
Just Like Anyone

Encore:
Leave This Town
April Fool-also don't think I heard this before in concert

I also noticed that Dave must have obtained new pants, because there were no holes. None. That might be the first time I've seen new pants since his solo tour.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures from this show!

Sarah

Wow! What a night. My wife and I decide to get to NYC a few hours before the show started so we could grab some dinner (we're from Long Island). We then decide to eat at the gastropub which recently opened next door to Bowery Ballroom. As the hostess shows us to our seats, I say to myself, "Holy crap! That's Dave Pirner!" and she sits us at the table across from him. I had zero desire to ask for his autograph or ask for a photo but knew I had to tell him just how much he and his music has meant to me throughout my life. So, I did just that. I went on to tell him how all I ever wanted was to marry someone who loved Soul Asylum, and how that dream had come true (my wife was standing next to me). He seemed to genuinely appreciate hearing that and asked my wife what her name was and then extended both of his hands to shake her one hand. We talked a few minutes more, sat down, and then ate. As Dave got up to leave, he waved goodbye and smiled, and said he'd see us at the show. This was a magical encounter for me because I felt I always owed it to him to say thanks for helping make my life as incredible as it is. This was an encounter I'll never forget. And as always, they put on an amazing show!

@ Educatrix -- My gracious hubby, Brian, is the fellow concertgoer that you speak of. He's not on ETSA so I read him your message. He says thanks...I think your message made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

Sorry that I didn't make the connection at the show or I would have introduced myself. Unfortunately, my focus is clearly elsewhere once I get to the venue. :)
