Re: New Show in CT
Good show and well worth the travel and the long wait in line.
It's always fun to reconnect at Mohegan with Ken, Rob, Bill, and Mary. And while the casino lounge environmeng might be a little odd, I just love the intimacy of that space and the fact that we can get right up against the stage.
Sarah and Nicole - Sorry I didn't see more of you! I tried to catch your attention a couple of times during the show at meaningful band moments and then I looked for you afterward, but I lost you when we were ushered out of the room. My friend and I had a long drive, so we had to get on the road and couldn't stick around.
I was once again unsuccessful at getting them to play Stranger but I'm always happy to hear favorites like Closer to the Stars, Never Really Been, Easy Street, and Sometime to Return. Also glad I could introduce more fans to the special appeal of Bittersweetheart.
That was the first time I've seen Dave mess up Sometime to Return like that. I don't even think he realized it until he had to repeat the same verse and then it was a big "oops" moment (in fact, he said "ooops" to Dan after the song.)
It was a bonus to have Pete Donnelly of the Figgs join them at the end of the set. I almost requested "I Won't Go to Miami."

Wow, what an AMAZING show last night! I sincerely believe Soul Asylum gets better and better everytime I see them! They are the perfect band to me.
I will have to connect with you other Soul Asylum fans at one of the shows someday! I live in Long Island, NY and have been seeing them live (and traveling all over to see them live) since I have been 15 years old and am starting to recognize some faces at the shows!
Glad everyone else seemed to have as much fun as I did!

Thanks for the reviews!

I got there at 2pm and was upfront as usual. Worth the wait. I recorded 3 songs in soundcheck and one during the show. Need to watch and see how they came out. Got a pic with Dan afterward. The new merch is cool!

Oh, wow! These are seriously some of the best live SA pics I've ever seen. You got so many unique shots. I especially love the one of Dave kneeling down holding the microphone. And I like how you got pictures of Tommy actually smiling and not just doing that goofy thing he does with his face when he's really into itYaz McBoo wrote:Great seeing you guys too. I hope you don't mind if I stick a few of these on my bedroom wall!
