Not sure if this belongs here. Moderators, feel free to transfer this to "Off-topic" or wherever.

Rick Wright, keyboardist and founding member of Pink Floyd, died this Monday, 15th of September 2008 after a battle with cancer. He was 65.

I am a big fan of Pink Floyd (I don't know if being a Pink Floyd fan, Dire Straits fan and Soul Asylum fan at this same time is a good mixture). This news saddened me but I feel that if Rick would look back to his life - he would be more than satisfied for all the music that he composed and played. RIP Rick Wright...

One of my all time favorite bands; love their music. Their Live 8 concert sent chills down my spine; it was awesome. I hadn't seen them play together in almost a decade.

On the way home on the day I earned my driver's permit; I begged and begged my mom to stop at the local "record" store, kinda of treat to myself for passing my permit test. She finally relented; we stopped, went in and I purchased a Pink Floyd key ring for the car keys I didn't have yet.

Wish you were here is one of my all time favorite songs. Lyricaly and musically.
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

When I heard the news yesterday; it was like a swift kick to the nads, it "hurt" that much. RIP Mr. Wright. My thoughts and prayers for your family, friends and fans. You will be missed but your music will live on.

YES! Thank you Sometime to Return! I though I'm going nuts for being the only one who is an SA fan and a PF fan at the same time...

It was THAT good, huh? I wish I saw it - probably would (since my dad is a huge fan of them, but had no one to go with him then), but I just discovered the band just 2 months ago (a month after I discovered SA). Now it's too late

The album it was contained (Wish You Were Here) is my favorite album of the band. Dark Side of the Moon and Meddle would come out second and third. Of the album, Wish You Were Here is my favorite song.
