Minneapolis

Post by harlan07 »

I am from the MS Gulf Coast not to far from New Orleans. My sister recently moved to the Minneapolis area for a new job. Anyway, I just went up to visit her and I must say, wow what a neat place. I had never seen so much snow! It was 3'-5' deep in the yard! We get like 1" here every 10 years and melts within a few hours, so i was blown away by what i saw. Food was great, people were great and I enjoyed myself. People were reserved but friendly, just like southern coastal culture. there wasn't a SA show but I went to 1st Ave just to say I'd seen it. man, those of you who have gotten to see a show there - what a special place. Especially back in the 80s, must have been a happenin' place.

Haha took my sister a King Cake since we just finished Mardi Gras and all. People up there loved it but had no idea what it was all about.

I'm going back in the summer next year so I can experience some more outdoor activities.

SA is coming to my town during the Everclear tour, rock on!

I miss Minneapolis. One of the bonuses of going to grad school at Iowa State was that it only took me 3 hours to get to Minneapolis to visit my friends or go to concerts...or do both in one trip! :)
