Re: Collectors Corner

Do you happen to have an mp3 or flac version of Time's Incinerator you could post? I have a copy ... somewhere, although completely unlabeled, so I have no idea if I'll ever find it. I have a friend from the paul westerberg forum looking for a copy as well, and figure there would be demand around h...

can we get a mechanism in place to help foil spam bots?

It seems like this site is getting spammed more often lately (the problems with being popular). If there any way to institute some simple soul asylum question on the registration page to try to foil them? Most of the bots just know how to create an account on generic phpbb systems, and then post imm...

Re: Iffy "the band" w/ Soul Asylum in Chicago

I think Kraig's brother's name is Kirk. It was Kirk, Tommy Merkl, and a third non-Kraig guy, though Kraig seemed to join them in concert. He was at the Iffy shows I saw about 10 years ago. I don't think the group is around anymore, though their cd was interesting. Yeah, Kirk sounds right, going wit...

Re: New Jayhawks album in the works!!!

Just figured I'd post that the first single for the album is out at http://minnesota.publicradio.org/collections/special/columns/music_blog/archive/2011/06/debut_the_jayha.shtml . I love the song, such a new sound.... you add the glorious G&M harmonies to the amazing sounds the Jayhawks had been mak...

Re: Iffy "the band" w/ Soul Asylum in Chicago

I've got one of their albums. It was Keith johnson's (I think that's his first name) band (kraig johnson, his brotheralso played with them on the road at least). I don't think they're still around though, but I could be wrong. I know kraig has been off doing other things at least

In remembrance

I just wanted to take a minute today to remember the greatness of Karl. He was one hell of a Bass player, and one of the nicest guys you could ever have had the pleasure of meeting. It's hard to believe it's been six years already. It's just not the same seeing the band without him. [youtube]http://...

if it were in September I'd probably make it to that one, but I'm still in Wisconsin for now.

Re: The Break

the best soul asylum songs tend to be the unreleased ones. Especially in the last 20 years or so. The albums have had good songs, but some of the leftovers were by far the best... freak accident black star some obsessions lonely for you just four off the top of my head that really were awesome and n...
